A Nod To Our Founder

Although he began as an electrical engineer working on the railways with the NSW Public Transport Commission, Bill had been involved in property and passionate about helping people for over 40 years. He had purchased his first property at just 18 years of age and continued to take an interest in the industry.

It was Bill’s work with railways both in Australia and abroad over the years that gave Track Financial its name. Today, the company continues to embrace this name by helping clients keep their finances on track.

After realising that one of the major obstacles property investors faced was access to finance, the next logical step for Bill was to officially embrace property finance and property investment. Once he had built up his knowledge, Bill started to work as a mortgage broker in 1998, finding that the acquisition of the right finance coincided perfectly with his love for property investment. Bill voraciously sought and achieved the necessary finance qualifications and experience required to be able to advise his clients in a professional capacity.

It was a heart attack that finally slowed Bill down, just one day after his 65th birthday. Thankfully, he was saved by emergency surgery in Sydney’s Royal North Shore hospital and was able to retire in good health. By this stage, he had already been working one-on-one with Ben for many years and could hand over the reins of Track Financial with confidence. Bill has since moved to the Hunter Valley, where he spends his time playing cricket for various over 60’s and over 70’s NSW and Hunter Valley cricket teams.

Track Financial Today

Ben Schafer followed in his father’s footsteps, starting with Track Financial in late 2005 and taking over the company following Bill’s retirement in 2017. Bill passed on his wealth of experience to his son, who has shared a love of property investment and finance from a very early age. Ben further enhanced his abilities by adding formal qualifications in mortgage broking, financial planning, and an MBA and master’s degree in Property and Development.

It was Ben’s fierce passion to help people by explaining the correlation between property and economics in such great detail that drove Track Financial to grow so rapidly. He has the ability to break difficult concepts down into easy-to-understand terms, which helps him assist clients from all walks of life.

Today, Ben has almost 20 years of real-world industry experience helping clients grow their property portfolios. He has used this expertise to grow the Track Financial team from the ground up. Together, the team has over 50 years of combined experience.

Ben continues to share his extensive knowledge with his clients and the rest of the team. With Ben at the helm, Track Financial has shown countless clients how to build wealth and achieve their financial goals faster.
